Lemon and Pesto Chicken Parmesan

I think you’ll like this recipe!  With the lemon zest in the chicken and the basil pesto sauce, it is such a light, refreshing switch up for regular Chicken Parm with marinara sauce.  But it still tastes like a traditional Italian dish with the oregano and basil.  My kids loved the fried aspect of it.


    • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    • 1 egg
    • 1 Tbs. flour
    • 1/2 cup panko crumbs
    • 1/2 cup shredded asiago cheese
    • 1/2 Tbs. dried oregano
    • 1/2 Tbs. dried basil
    • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
    • Zest of 1 lemon
    • 1 Tbs. olive oil
    • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
    • 8 oz. (1/2 package) angel hair pasta
    • 1 cup basil pesto sauce
