Salad-Appetizer “Orange”

We offer you to make a pleasant surprise to your guests for coming holidays! This is a tender fish salad-appetizer, made in a form of bright oranges! It’s very delicious and beautiful!


  • Rice, boiled, 1 cup
  • Tinned trout, 1 can
  • Garlic, 1 clove
  • Apple, 1 of medium size
  • Grated cheese, 2 tbsp
  • Mayonnaise, 1,5 tbsp
  • Salt, to taste
  • Peanuts, to taste
  • Carrots, 3
  • Cloves, to taste


Grate carrots on a small grater.

In a bowl, combine mashed (with a fork) trout, rice, grated apple pulp, cheese, chopped garlic and peanuts.

Salt to taste, add mayo.

Water your hands and form equal-sized balls.

Cover each bowl into grated carrots for each ball to resemble an orange. .

Lay out “oranges” onto the plate and insert one clove into each for oranges to look more real.

If you like, you may garnish the plate with chili pepper and peanuts like I did.
