Sour Cream Doughnuts make one of the best desserts for afternoon tea. Do give this recipe a try from our selection of no bake dessert recipes here. These no bake desserts are deep fried in hot oil and are usually enjoyed coated with icing sugar or fine sugar.
If you are frying the doughnuts in a deep wok, you may use chopsticks to easily flip over the doughnuts as one side browned. Once they have browned evenly, place them on kitchen papers to absorb the oil. Enjoy them with coffee or tea.
- 4 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 4 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 3/4 cup Fine Sugar
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Sour Cream
Sift dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking powder and nutmeg) and chop in butter.
Meanwhile, beat egg and add in sour cream. Now add this egg mixture into the flour mixture. Mix well and roll out into 1/4” thick on a floured board. Cut into desired shapes and fry in deep hot oil.
